| About Me: | I started training in 1968 in Chun Chon Korea under Master Yun Nam Ku. It was 19 months of great training and fun. The old school where discipline was rough. You either praticed or you were cast aside. It didn't matter whether you were American or Korean. They had strict rules of practice/training. Those were the times of not having the modern facilities of today. Itarined from January 1968 until July of of 1969. I fought on the circuit from 1970 until returning back to Korea in 1974 where I was fortunate enough to make the Second Infantry Division (Army) Tae kwon Do Team and Staff under Gen. Hank (Gunfighter) Emerson. Later I fought out Fort Bragg N.C for the XVlll Airborne along with a group of excellent fighters. Grandmaster McMurray from Texas was on the team. He is now under the banner of House of Discipline in Harker Heights TX. I laid off from training and competing for 20 years playing slow pitch softball. Three years ago i moved back to illinois from Florida and was insspired by my then 8 year old niece to start again. We now have a Dojang with approximately 48 students in just two years. I have some great students both adults and children. I started late with passing on my knowledge but I hope that there is enough entusiasm for the art in this area that it will continue even when I'm gone. |
